Wiki-Link There are Air Cadet organisations in several countries, some are big and some small, nearly all of them are run by a parent organisation, in many cases their country's Air Force. Air Cadet units are aimed primarily at teenagers with a penchant for flying, those who wish to join their country's Air Force and those who just love combining their love of aviation with outdoor pursuits and meeting new people. Throughout the world, Air Cadets get opportunities to fly in a wide variety of aircraft, from twin-seat trainer aircraft to supersonic jet fighters - though the latter is normally reserved for exceptional cadets! Other activities may include navigation skills, where cadets are taken from the basics of map reading in a classroom to safely navigating their team on an expedition. When it is time for cadets to leave, their experiences will stand them in good stead for future jobs, not just military oriented, but in the civilian world too, as employers recognise the value of the qualities bestowed in cadets during their training.
